Service Definition
Laser hair removal uses selective photothermolysis — the principle that specific light wavelengths are preferentially absorbed by melanin in the hair follicle — to deliver thermal energy directly to the hair bulb and papilla, permanently damaging the follicle's ability to produce new hair. Hair in the active growth phase (anagen) is most susceptible to laser destruction; because not all follicles are in anagen simultaneously, a series of treatment sessions is required to achieve comprehensive reduction.
Motus AY — Safe Across All Skin Tones
Younger You Aesthetics uses the Motus AY laser platform — an Nd:YAG 1064 nm system with Moveo technology that delivers laser energy in a moving, stacked-pulse mode that reduces peak fluence per pulse while maintaining cumulative follicular damage. This approach allows safe, effective treatment at Fitzpatrick types I–VI, including patients with tanned skin and darker complexions who cannot safely receive traditional alexandrite or diode laser hair removal.
Even if you've been told laser hair removal isn't appropriate for your skin tone, the Motus AY at Younger You Aesthetics may be a safe and effective option. Book a consultation to determine your candidacy.
